Just curious if others are reloading/handloading their own ammo. :)

Yes,I do, my setup is small but I have the basics .A press, scale, and dies for what I have.A good friend of mine has a more elaborate setup. Also has bullit molds. Almost a small factory in his garage. We spent time case forming 30/06 to 8mm mauser. It is a fun hobby, and you never run out of ammo!
We have a four box system, the soap box,the ballot box,the jury box,and the cartridge box.

Cool.  What calibers do you reload?

Reloading has been one of those things I've been meaning to do forever, but never seem to find the time and space.  Still, it makes a lot of sense, particularly if you do a lot of shooting. :)

Very nice.  Is there much in the way of cost savings over factory loaded ammo?  I recall this was one of the reasons cited years back, but I don't know what components are running these days.  Thanks.

For common ammo, yes and no. You end up shooting more often,on some hard to find ammo it can be done for less money, depending on the caliber you load for.
We have a four box system, the soap box,the ballot box,the jury box,and the cartridge box.

I load things per thousand. Heck I have 5000 primers sitting around.. When I sit down to load i'll roll 1000+ rounds. I can crank out 1000 rounds on my 650 in about an hour.

I cast my own bullets and reload .223, .308, .357, .45acp and 45-70. I always buy primers in 5k lots and powder in 8 pound jugs and haven't had to buy brass for years which makes for some pretty inexpensive reloads.

See I won't load rifle more than 2-3 times.. I shoot precision rifle competitions, so a .25 MOA at 200 is the difference between going home or taking first place.. I buy the bullets, and usually get once fired brass or pickup my brass, the roll and measure each rounds in firsts and seconds shoot seconds when training, shoot firsts when shoot competition. Handgun loads not as picky...

Do you see significant savings with the .45-70?  Factory ammo is pricey these days.  Thanks.

The majority of lead I cast with is from scrap wheel weights but even if I had to buy lead for the going price of $1 a pound it would give me fifteen 450 grain bullets for a cost of 6.7 cents each. Add a large rifle primer for 3 cents and a charge of AA2230 at 8.2 cents for a grand total of about 18 cents a round provided you have your own brass. I've been doing this for a long time and enjoy shooting my own loads and bullets a lot more than off the shelf ammo. It's a lot of fun to work up your own loads, just be safe doing it.
