Transferable 40mm Grenade Launcher
« on: July 12, 2012, 04:45:06 PM »
I came across this on my travels.  A (in many states) transferable/legal 40mm grenade launcher.  Is this finally enough gun?

Just posting for giggles. :)

Looks good. Now where do we go to get the grenades?

Even though the grenade launcher is legal in most US States (after a $200 tax, paperwork submitted to the Feds and local LEO), each explosive grenade is taxed and regulated the same way, so its really impractical for the average citizen.  Most of the folks that run these type of things as a hobby utilize practice rounds (chalk) or buckshot loads, iirc.

Now I know what hubby will want, how do I keep him from seeing this thread?  ;D
Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

I see. Alright. Leaving the grenades out of the picture, what can we use as a propulsive force? That's all we need. The warhead can be anything handy. Acid in a bottle comes to mind.

40mm cartridges are self-contained.

Check this out.  A 37 mm launcher.  I dont think you need a license and they have a 12ga to 37mm adapter http://www.firequest.com/FJ735.html

I see. So it's just a simple matter of putting in something to throw at the enemy. What would be the best alternative to a grenade?

In the same vein, I came across this while looking at some NFA items and thought I'd post it just for grins.  A transferable M-79 grenade launcher.  Is this finally enough gun? (teehee x 2)
